Though we don’t use candle lanterns for some of the practical purposes that people id history did we can still enjoy their light and beauty today. Through their history some have been of a more practical construction and some have also been more decorative. Officials and other people walking and riding through the night don’t light up their cars or footpaths with candles lanterns anymore, though in times passed they walked by their light and candle lanterns hung from coaches and carriages. Ships also employed candle lanterns to see. Historical figures like George Washington are pictured crossing the Potomac with candle lantern lighting the way.
